To Honor The Mario Kart 8 DLC...

Description

Due to Mario Kart 8's first of two downloadable content now arriving in the game itself as of today, i also had the pleasure of downloading another Mario Kart game... and no, it's not Mario Kart 64, since Nintendo 64 games are still not available on the Wii U eShop yet, but rather, it's none other than...

Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Game Boy Advance, 2001): Shortly after the Game Boy Advance was launched, Nintendo brought the Mario Kart series to the portable world, thus marking the first time that the Mario Kart games would be played on the go. Thing is, it still features the same eight racers that were seen in Mario Kart 64, although the voices were kinda different in that one, seeing that they were the recycled voices from the japanese version of Mario Kart 64. In any case, this one saw a lot more cups than usual from its predecessor, as half of the cups featured the entire list of tracks from Super Mario Kart in its entirety, meaning the first Mario Kart game to have retro tracks in it, while being revamped a little bit. I still have my physical copy of the game, but could not have finished the 150cc Special Retro Cup... and i still have not finished it to this day. Maybe i'll be more lucky playing it on the Wii U Gamepad.

Oh, and speaking of Mario Kart 8, i've given the two new tracks and racers a shot... and Wowsers, these tracks are awesome, especially the F-Zero, Zelda and Excitebike tracks. The start-up intro of the F-Zero track mostly comes from the Super NES version of the first F-Zero game... and the results theme in that track from that very game is also played. As for the Zelda track, there's no coins to collect, but Rupees instead. Hey, Zelda games' currency is rupees, so better get used to that.

In any case, i like the first DLC pack and i can't wait for the second one, which... will be in May 2015. Oh well, at least now, i can enjoy the eight new tracks, characters and vehicle parts.
