Original Indie Games With Some Similarities

Finally, after a long wait, two newer downloadable games... and one very bizarro game, arrived on the eShop for both 3DS and Wii U. There's nothing interesting on the side of the Virtual Console this week, but these three will (hopefully) cover it.

Gunman Clive 2 (3DS Download): This game here is the sequel to the first Gunman Clive 3DS download and the style of that one remains the same, meaning that it still has some action-like resemblance to the Mega Man games, in terms of shooting enemies and the enemy pattern that shows up on that one, but now, there's more characters to select from, as well as POV stages that are shown; something that was not done in the first game. Needless to say, that one's a little bit tougher than the first, so here's hoping that you'll be up to going back to the far-west and take care of the scoundrels.

Rock'N Racing Off Road (Wii U Download): This game has a similar style to Leland Corporation's arcade hits, Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Off-Road AND Super Off-Road, although unlike those two games, it does have voice acting of the announcer of that one... AND when one player crosses the finish line, you have a couple of seconds to reach it yourself, if you don't want to have an OUT in your racing time. Luckily, that one's fun to play and has some good unlockables to go with. And it's from the company that offered iSpot Japan on the DSiWare, meaning EnjoyUp Games.

Frenchy Bird (Wii U Download): Oui oui, monsieur, zis game has ze same style as another familar game that zee a familiar bird flying to pass zrhough poles and such, meaning Flappy Bird. ........... Uh, sorry about that, folks. Anyway, as the name pretty much suggests, you play as a frenchy bird (or a pigeon, if you will) and the goal of that one is to score as much points as you can before hitting one of those goddamn posts, in which the scenery of that one takes place in Paris, France, hence the name of the game that says Frenchy Bird. But... seriously, has the Flappy Bird trend translated into making similar games, but with different kinds of settings on that one? I mean, first Spiked Wall and now this? Wouchies.
